This project marks our first collaboration in the Netherlands, and we are deeply grateful to Mr. Will for the opportunity to work together.
Because this order was for a private residential steel structure building, it required strict compliance with European building codes, which differ significantly from Chinese standards. Extensive discussions were held to select materials that would meet both structural requirements and the client’s high expectations for thermal insulation.
At our initial meeting, Mr. Will and his engineer Andrew provided us with detailed architectural drawings and 3D models of the house, explaining their design ideas and specific needs. We learned that the client demanded superior thermal performance for the walls, which necessitated a significantly thicker wall structure than typical. Beyond supplying the steel keel, insulation, and cement boards, we were also asked to provide aluminum tubes to integrate with local wall materials and finishes—an excellent example of merging Chinese engineering with Western architectural preferences.
In subsequent meetings, including several video conferences, we worked through numerous drawing revisions based on Mr. Will’s updates. Engineer Andrew was highly professional and supplied us with detailed drawings of the embedded parts required for on-site installation.
Because this was a European project, the client required quality certification for the steel materials, and the specifications differed from Chinese national standards. Mr. Will meticulously prepared comparison tables that allowed us to match local European standards with suitable Chinese steel grades. Although we faced communication challenges at times due to Dutch-language technical documents, Mr. Will kindly translated all critical information into English to ensure smooth progress. Ultimately, we successfully completed the order. Mr. Will was highly satisfied with the materials and has already commenced construction. Despite his busy schedule, he has kindly shared photos and videos with us to keep us updated on the progress of his new home.
